Greetings! I'm Lauren Eicher, a soft goods designer in Pittsburgh, Pa, and my blog is here to inspire and help other creative explorers! I've always loved art and creative outlets, and teaching.
Originally in high school I had planned to go to college for a teaching degree in art, but my life took me down a path of design. I gained a Bachelors in Industrial Design in Pittsburgh in 2013 and started working at a company in the strip district. At school I dabbled in graphics, entertainment, pottery, and fashion. My heart yerned for a happy medium between Industrial Design and Fashion Design. Welcome to Soft Goods Design! I get to sew, pattern draft, and design all day.
In my free time, I'm always looking for ways to improve projects I find or when a project fails, try again, and create tips and tricks. But I never document them! (Horrible of me I know!!!) I keep a little note journals and I jot things down quickly, but when others ask for help I tend to have to retrace my steps. With this blog I want to be much more organized but also have my tips, tricks, and personal designed projects out there for the world.
I want to inspire, guide, and help as much as possible! So if you have a project you want me to test run, a curiosity about a project I've worked on, a question about anything creative, or you just want to say hi, head on over to the carrier pigeon! He can be hesitant to visit my house,(my cat loves birds) but he will get the message to me!
So lets get creative guys and gals!!
Lauren
