Hey all! I'm currently making my first knitted project for myself! I've been knitting for my cat, my boyfriend, for the hell of it, but I finally found this beautiful yarn that I decided to knit a cowl inspired by a shawl on Ravelry, by Jennifer Pfeiffer, a fellow blogger and you can finder her on Knitwisepurlwise.com. I love the shawl, but I'm a huge cowl fan and the fact that it can't come undone is a bonus!
Right now I'm starting flat and even trying out a new increasing stitch, KF&B (knit front & back) and starting with a bright color. The yarn I'm using Universal Yarn's Uptown Worsted Panic Purple and Steel Grey, which is 100% Acrylic but so soft!

This is a progress shot and the yarn I am using for this project, the color for the panic purple is off a little, its much pinker purple in real life.
I've only been working on the cowl for collectively 2 hours, I sadly missed a stitch while stitching during lunch so I had to undo 4 rows of knitting. But I'm currently at 56 stitches and at 60 I will be switching over to the steel grey and continue until 100 stitches and then join them to and switch to my circulars.
The only thing I'm not happy with is that its almost too pointy, I increased only on the face side and purled the wrong side but on the pattern I will be posting will be increasing on both sides to make a much gentle triangle.
This is my lovely weekend project, along with touching the cat pod(wait whats that?? oh you will see!), and on Monday I will have the finale!
